This four-bedroom bungalow was thoughtfully reimagined as a comfortable two-bedroom retirement home designed to support aging in place. The renovation brought laundry to the main floor, enlarged the bathroom to accommodate a spacious walk-in shower with grab bars, and created a more generous primary suite with a new walk-in closet. In the main living area, the kitchen was opened up and the separate dining area removed to make room for a large multifunctional island. Designed with table-style legs, the island serves as the home’s primary dining space while also providing plenty of room for food preparation, storage, and gathering. Several of the client’s existing furnishings were incorporated into the design and became the inspiration for a relaxed coastal palette. The result is a bright, welcoming home that captures the feeling of a favourite vacation destination while providing meaningful places to display treasured travel mementos.
