Our Process

Through professional experience, we have established meticulous processes to communicate our designs and see them through to fruition. Our signature 10-step process is the key to our successful projects and happy clients.

1

CONSULTATION & PROPOSAL

Our 2-hour consultation is an on-site working session, during which we will review your project scope, provide professional advice, and offer creative ideas.  We will then provide a proposal for the design package of your choice. Once the contract is signed, your project will be scheduled.

2

RESEARCH & ANALYSIS

After conducting a thorough site assessment, we will collect client inspiration and project-pertinent information, and engage our team of trusted consultants as needed.  We will research project-applicable building code, zoning parameters, and sustainability strategies and determine preliminary design direction.

3

CONCEPT DESIGN

We will create a holistic vision of your new space, considering everything from architectural layouts to window treatments.  The concept design is presented using 2D plans, inspiration boards, and 3D renderings that depict style, materials, and colour scheme, so you can fully visualize the design.

4

BUDGET PLANNING

We will assist in obtaining budget quotes from contractors and trades for construction and will provide you with a budget guide for furnishings and décor.  This information will allow us to set a budget goal, evaluate the scope of the project, and confirm a contractor and/or project team to move forward with.

5

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Collaborating with a team of trusted consultants, (including as needed: architectural designers, engineers, and landscape designers), we will develop all of the details of the design, including selecting all the finishes, fixtures, and furnishings to express your style or brand.  We will present the design with photo realistic renderings and physical samples.

6

DOCUMENTATION

We will take the design and turn it into a precise interior design drawing and specification package that captures all of the design details for implementation, like lighting & electrical layouts and cabinetry details.  The contractor can now refine their pricing to reflect the final design.

7

CONSTRUCTION

After guiding you through the permit process, project implementation will begin with a kick-off meeting to ensure construction gets off to a smooth start.  We will collaborate with the contractor, make regular site visits,  review supplier drawings and problem solve as challenges arise.

8

FURNISHINGS

If needed for the scope of your project, we provide procurement services for the full scope of furnishings, window treatments and décor through our quality designer sources.  We will manage the ordering, tracking, shipping, and installation, for a stress-free full-service experience.

9

STYLING

If requested, we will style your space with accessories, linens, plants, and artwork to complete the look.  We will takeover your space for the day for installation of furnishings and accessories so that you can come back to a magazine-worthy grand reveal.

10

PROJECT CLOSE OUT

Your project will conclude with a final deficiencies inspection, final billing, and presentation of your project close out package, which will include as-built drawings, warranty and maintenance information – everything that you will need to care for and enjoy your space for years to come.

What our clients have to say:

She leveraged the expertise of a network of professionals

As this was our first renovation project, we didn’t know what we didn’t know, and this is where Jen and the Invision team really distinguish themselves from other firms. Jen is so much more than just an incredible designer; she is a strategic partner whose goal is to shepherd her clients through what can be a tricky, frustrating and often unnecessarily costly venture. Jen helped us understand the many moving parts that make up a renovation project and leveraged the expertise of a network of professionals who appreciated the complexity of a project like ours.
