This 2-storey house has been home to a family of four for close to 20 years. They have been slowly updating and renovating it over the years, and were ready to tackle the remaining original spaces to create a cohesive modern look throughout. We updated the foyer and living room with a new front door and staircase, clean modern finishes that unified the entire house, and custom furnishings and stunning drapery. The living room was completed with custom artwork inspired by the clients love of music and their personal concert excursions. The two bathrooms were overhauled with custom cabinetry, updated plumbing fixtures and a clean and fresh material palette. Furthermore, this client was looking to create a zen room in an under-utilized bedroom - a space for yoga, meditation and relaxation that could double as a guest room as needed. We created a healing space using a biophilic design approach, incorporating elements of nature in the room, including a fireplace, natural materials, plants and natural light. With custom millwork, we maximized the storage in this space and created a guest bedroom with a murphy bed.
