This house is home to family of ten - five humans and five felines!  It was time for an overhaul, and it was imperative that the space work for all members of the family.  In addition to a love of cats, this family also has a love for travel, and has a collection of momentos and artwork from their many destinations.  Our design approach was to create a clean-lined modern space with warm neutral tones and pops of wood that would act as a perfect backdrop for their many travel treasures.  By swapping the kitchen and dining rooms, we were able to create a much more functional kitchen with loads of storage as well as a dining room that features refinished family heirloom furnishings.  We removed an inconvenient patio door in the family room, and instead, added a new 10' slider centrally located in the dining room that brings in plenty of light and offers access to the backyard pool.  By sacrificing some space in the family room, we were able to increase the size and greatly improve the function of the laundry room with new access to the garage.  In order to accommodate the furry family members, we used pet-friendly finishes and window treatments and incorporated features especially for them, like ledges to sit on, space for food dishes and a fun cat wall!
